Join us for this one-day family gathering for members only, filled with fun activities and programming related to both adoption and Chinese culture. New this year is extended programming into the evening!

There is shared family time, and three separate tracks to interest most family members.   The three tracks are separated by grades; please refer to the grades of children in the fall 2016.  We would like to invite interested extended family members - grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings are welcome.

Children Group 1, Kindergarten through 3rd grade:

Children Group 2, 4th grade through 7th grade:

  • Wing Young Huie workshop
  • COMPAS artist May Lee-Yang workshop and project
  • Collaboration with Julia Gay, Chinese adoptee, artist, and activist.

Adults:

Teen Helpers:
Teens can participate too! Everyone benefits when teens help chaperone the kids activities.  Teen helpers can attend for free, with or without their parents.  If a teen would like attend and their parent cannot, please email: martinberg.jena@gmail.com

Poolside time is available for hotel guests and limited hotel non-guests.

Our meeting this year is at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Minneapolis.

The pricing for the event only* is $40 per person.   This includes all programming, lunch and an afternoon snack.  Thus a family of 4 will be charged $160.   We think you will find this a bargain for the day-long rewarding activities for all family members.

FCA works within our FCA budget and seeks community support to subsidize this low rate; this year a grant from the Confucius Institute will help offset our expenses.  The actual cost per participant is estimated (based on previous years) to be $65.  Would you like to help offset this fee?  If you are able, we encourage participants to pay on a sliding fee scale.   Do you know of other community organizations who can help defray our costs?  Please let us know.

If you and your family cannot afford this cost, please contact president@fcamidwest.com as soon as possible.  We can explore options to try to make this affordable for everyone who wants to attend.  We believe it offers great programs and experiences we want our members to have.

The total number of people we can accept is 85, including parents and children.  Please do not delay in signing up for this event.  See below for booking your room.

*Room rates are separate.

We have reserved rooms at a special discount rate with the Ramada Plaza, and encourage all attendees to stay at the hotel Saturday night! You can reserve for Friday and/or Saturday nights.
